I’ll keep things brief.
I really liked this one. A House of Dynamite pulled me in early and kept me stressed pretty much the entire time. A missile is heading toward the United States, nobody knows who launched it, and there’s almost no time to figure out how to respond. Makes you think what America would actually do in that situation.
Kathryn Bigelow did a great job building tension, and the acting was strong throughout. So much of the movie is people talking, waiting for information, and trying to make impossible decisions, but I was invested. Watching them try to stay focused while worrying about their own families made the situation feel even more unsettling.
I also liked seeing the crisis from different perspectives. There’s some repetition, but the added context kept it interesting. You understand more of what’s happening without feeling any better about it.
Without spoiling anything, the ending had me going, “Wait, for real?” But the more I thought about it, the more it worked for me. I was still thinking about it afterward.
Overall, a really good thriller. Intense, well acted, and uncomfortable in a way that felt earned. Definitely worth watching.
